Mario “Mayito” Rivera – El Poeta de la Rumba | Biography & Discography
Mayito Rivera (Mario Enrique Rivera Godines) is one of the most powerful voices that has produced Cuba, he is a singer, composer and above of all, he is a show man !.
Mayito is from Pinar del Rio, was born in 1966, he has participated in countless of musical productions, until 1992, where he joined to Los Van Van, replacing another virtuoso & show man, the no less popular Pedrito Calvo. Then his career has gone upwards, with great success, he sang some of the most popular songs in Los Van Van like “Normal, Natural”, “Voy a publicar tu foto”, “De La Habana a Matanzas”, “Soy Todo” “no pidas mas prestao”, “agua”, “temba tumba timba ” ” si no te quieres tu” which is the last hit sung by mayito, that song is from the last album of Los Van Van titled “Arrasando”.
Mayito Rivera has also collaborated with other bands like grupo Danson, timbalive, just to name a few.
